Midnight Sparkler

Recipe

  1. Rub half the rim of each of four stemmed coupe glasses with a lemon slice, then dip the moistened rim into sanding sugar or edible glitter. Chill the glasses until ready to use.

  2. Combine the crème de violette, gin, clementine juice, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold, about 30 seconds.

  3. Strain the cocktail base evenly into the four prepared glasses.

  4. Top each glass with Champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.

Make-ahead: the cocktail base (without Champagne) can be made up to 1 day ahead. Cover and refrigerate, then shake with ice and strain to order.
